Overview
The role of Volunteer Development Executive is to recruit, train, and mentor youth, equipping them with essential skills to plan and execute projects/activities for the community.
This role involves guiding youths to discover their strengths, encouraging active participation, and ensuring a safe, supportive environment for growth.
Through consistent engagement and reflection, your role is to help youth build confidence, empathy, and a commitment to service—empowering them to contribute meaningfully to society.
Responsibilities
Build relationship and rapport with youth through programmes to help gain traction for volunteering among the youth
Work with SG Cares Volunteer Centre @ Jurong team and its partners to identify volunteering needs of the town and identify potential areas for community projects
Develop youth through community projects by:
Facilitating group discussions to spark ideas and identify meaningful project opportunities
Working with youth to define clear objectives and break down larger goals into specific, achievable steps
Guiding the execution of projects while empowering youth to take ownership and lead decision-making
Monitoring progress and stepping in when needed, while maintaining a youth-led approach
Providing timely, constructive feedback in a safe and supportive environment that nurtures growth and confidence
Document important data such as number of volunteers, volunteering hours etc to help the team to review the effectiveness of current practices in building a volunteering culture
Maintain a database of volunteers to ensure proper recognition of their contributions during our annual Volunteer Appreciation event
Manage and maintain records of volunteer groups, partnerships and build a repository of community resources within the town.
Technical Competencies
A bachelor’s degree or diploma (related discipline will be an advantage).

Excellent stakeholder management skills and proactive in engaging diverse stakeholders from the public and private sectors, volunteers and residents
Detail-oriented with excellent planning and coordination skills
Strong written, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Proficient in MS Office and Canva
Proficient in managing data on Excel

Experience working with youth
Experience in working with volunteers, volunteer groups, community
Self-motivated, proactive, pleasant and resourceful
Willing to work on Saturdays and four other weekdays (5-day work week)
