Job description

We are recruiting for one of the Mainboard listed real estate and hospitality companies.

Given their strategic expansion and future direction, they are looking to hire a VP – Business Development (Hospitality) to take the lead in helming the team in Business Development and their Hospitality arm.

Reporting to the CEO directly, this is a leadership role where you will be instrumental in leveraging your operational, business development, sales expertise and network to expand the hospitality business in the Asia Pacific region.

Your key responsibilities include identifying, evaluating, and securing new hospitality development and acquisition opportunities.

This is pertaining to developing business strategies such as commercial terms, fee structure etc in accordance with industry best practices and competitive norms.


You will be leading the negotiation of management contracts and deal making process including coordinating with internal and external parties on matters relating to the deal (for new investments or management contracts) and projects (for existing assets)


You will proactively engage with major international operators while maintaining the flexibility to work effectively with any potential partner to manage these relationships to ensure alignment with the owner’s long-term objectives.


As the Owner’s Representative, you will be supporting any ongoing projects, including managing the current renovation project in the portfolio and driving expansion in key markets of interest and see through the execution of such projects.

Requirements:


You are degree qualified with more than 15 years of experience in hospitality business development and have displayed leadership and growth achievements in your current/previous capacity.


You are insightful with strong business/commercial acumen and comes with in-depth industry experience and network of owners’ contact.


You possess excellent interpersonal, communication skills and able to navigate complex negotiation situations.


You are ambitious, results-oriented and looking to achieve the set KPIs of the company’s performance.

Evaluates hotel performance and market expansion, Hospitality new benchmarking and brand development strategy.

The Manager engages key internal stakeholders to support cross-functional collaboration for business development activities and performs data analysis on brand development, partnerships, hospitality data research, benchmarking and evaluation.

This individual is independent and insightful, shows strong business acumen and is able to source for growth opportunities.

Being aware of market trends, industry events, competitor actions and client needs enables the manager to support the proactive pursuit of growth opportunities.

Deals sourcing


Research and Market analysis (Hotels and Service Apartments)

Evaluate feasibility studies including site inspection, competitors , market trends perform financial modelling analysis, evaluation, due diligence, negotiation, deal structuring and presentation to management and Board for approval.


Establish hotel operators contacts


Real Estate (Hotel) acquisitions.


Performance review of Hotels ,


Review Hotel performance, operating cost, capex & OSE requirement, liabilities and profitability .

Ensuring Hotel Operator communication and abides to approval process of matters to asset performance.


Ensuring Hotel continue to abide HMA and local governance whilst maintaining a high standard of reputation management.


Market intelligence and monthly performance


Relationship building with potential Hotel Operators (Direct or Franchise Model)


Attend networking sessions and meetings with hotel operators, Agents, Consultants for potential business opportunities.


Real estate (Hotel) acquisitions with joint venture partners and Hotel Operators


Branding Development (to create in-house Hotel Brand)

Work with Branding Consultant at design development stage on concept plan, project costing, development schedule.

Brand Development Approvals


Asset Enhancement Initiative (AEI)


Work with Project, Marketing and Property Management teams to identify opportunities in existing hotel assets and implementation of AEI.

Improve asset value


Mentor and direct team member


Train, coach and guide junior Hospitality analyst team members on Hospitality brand functions.

Graduate in Hospitality with minimum 10 years in leadership experience managing Hotels
