Overview
We’re hiring passionate educators to join our Weekend Literacy Enrichment Team .
You’ll be trained and certified to deliver a structured reading and writing programme to children aged 4–7.
- Teaching is strictly in-person on weekends only — no weekday teaching involved
- Locations: Pasir Ris, Toa Payoh, or Paya Lebar (KINEX) — assigned based on enrolment
This is a bonded, fixed-schedule role — not an ad-hoc relief assignment.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct 2-hour literacy classes (reading & writing) for children aged 4–7
- Use storytelling, drama, and creative techniques to bring lessons to life
- Track student progress and share feedback with parents
- Follow structured programme materials and teaching methods
- (Optional) Teach Primary-level English after additional certification
Training & Teaching Commitment
All shortlisted candidates will undergo HQ-led training (fully sponsored but unpaid ).
You must complete the following:
- Written task + 15–20 min storytelling video demo
Training Modules
- Literacy curriculum + educator methodology
Post-certification commitment
- You will be assigned a fixed weekly class slot (e.g. every Saturday 9–11am)
- You must complete 80 weekend lessons within 12 months
- Weekly attendance is required — no opt-in flexibility
- Early resignation before bond completion = $5,000 penalty
Class Schedule & Locations
- Work Days : Saturday & Sunday only
- Class Slots :
- 9:00am – 11:00am
- 11:30am – 1:30pm
- Centres : Pasir Ris, Toa Payoh, or Paya Lebar (KINEX)
- Rotations apply based on enrolment needs
Pay Structure
- $50/hour (certified rate)
- Each 2-hour class pays $100
- Assignments depend on enrolment and centre schedules
- Additional classes may be offered to those certified for Primary-level English
You Should Have
- A Diploma in Early Childhood, Educational Studies, or Speech & Drama
- At least 1 year of classroom teaching experience with children aged 3–7
- Strong English and engaging storytelling delivery
- Ability to commit to every Saturday and Sunday morning
- Reliable, professional, and ready to complete the 80-lesson bond
Video Demo Requirement
Shortlisted candidates must submit a 15–20 min video:
- Read aloud a picture book suitable for 4–7 year olds
- Use storytelling techniques — voice, puppets, props, or dramatization
- Add a simple follow-up activity (e.g. related craft or song)
Important Notes
- This is a bonded, fixed-schedule weekend role — not casual relief work
- Candidates seeking flexibility to opt in/out based on availability will not be suitable
