Overview
The Workforce Transformation Project Manager leads critical people transformation projects across the bank to evolve and enhance organisational performance, ways of working and effectiveness.
The workforce transformation team standardises, simplifies, and digitises the bank to ensure our people are organized effectively, realising value across the network, and have the right skills and capabilities for today and the future.
The role will lead and work across multiple transformation projects including but not limited to fit for growth (FFG), GBS transformation, cross-functional services and COEs, process simplification and tech simplification.
In partnership with stakeholders (S&T MT, T&O MT, Business and Function Heads), this role ensures strategic alignment and execution of organisation-wide workforce transformation plans that are embedded across the Group with sustained adoption and measurable impact.
Responsibilities
Project Governance:
Define clear project objectives aligned to the programme / business strategy.
Agree on baseline and KPIs with the Programme Manager to quantify and measure success and milestones.
Manage project governance through delivery of work and sprint plans, agile ceremonies, and governance forums.
Engage teams on framework parameters and cascade updates to required delegates.
Set up programme governance in line with group standards (e.g., CDS, E-SDLC).
Ensure governance and compliance requirements are met, including vendor onboarding, responsible AI, change risk assessment, cloud governance, and process design.
Ensure project artifacts/approvals are available for audit in a central repository.
Planning & Execution Support:
Develop end-to-end project plan (schedule, budget, scope, risk, resources) and implement change control.
Define milestones with clear timelines.
Identify roles and ensure adequate staffing with appropriate capabilities.
Maintain project resource actuals and forecasts in Clarity; manage task dependencies and critical path; assess delivery approaches and manage risks accordingly.
Monitor process implementation effectiveness, identify improvements, and embed controls for risk management including change requests and go-live parameters.
Engage with business leads and POs to obtain status and agree on actions.
Coordinate with global teams on change delivery standards and rollouts.
Facilitate progress tracking with agile metrics and tools (e.g., burndown charts).
Prepare governance documents and reports (PSC pack, ToR, BRD, Project plan, Closure Report, Change Requests, PSC MoM) as applicable to meet quality standards.
Manage changes to scope, schedule, costs and benefits via the change control process, keeping stakeholders informed early.
Risk & Issue Management:
Maintain the project RAID log, drive escalation and resolution of high-impact risks, and track interdependencies with other projects or business units.
Financial Oversight:
Support budget, forecasts and actuals; track resource allocations; identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency levers; generate and review project financial reports in Clarity.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
Coordinate project communications, briefings, and updates; act as the central coordination point across business units, workstreams and external partners; align messaging for change management and readiness activities.
Project Technology Delivery:
Co-responsible for technology implementation with Programme Manager/Business function/CIO; participate in quality reviews, process designs, and requirements workbooks; collaborate with technology teams to meet performance goals; drive delivery using federated/hybrid approaches when required.
Tooling & Reporting:
Ensure project data is complete and up-to-date in Bank tools (Azure DevOps, Clarity); develop reports/dashboards for executive review using Clarity, ADO, Confluence, MS Office.
Closure & Post-Implementation Review:
Ensure handover to BAU, capture lessons learned, conduct post-implementation review, and hand over benefits management as directed.
Regulatory & Business Conduct:
Display exemplary conduct, uphold Group Values and Code of Conduct, ensure ethics and compliance across the bank, and identify and mitigate risk and compliance matters.
Key Stakeholders:
Programme Sponsors and Accountable Executives; Workforce Transformation Team and Lead; HRBPs and COEs; Group Transformation and FFG Control Tower; Vendors and third-party partners.
Ideal Candidate
10+ years of experience in financial services and/or organisation and people change with a proven Project Management track record.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Management or Accountancy).
Project Management training (PMP or equivalent); PMI certifications (PMP, PgMP, PfMP).
Experience managing Agile and waterfall projects.
Proficient with project management tools (Clarity, ADO, Confluence, MS Office, MS Project, Planner, etc.).
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Proficient in financial forecasting and budgeting.
Knowledge of bank policies and procedures and risk areas such as data quality.
