Job Description


The Translational Neuroscience programme of the Institute for Human Development and Potential (IHDP), under Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR) invites applications for a Scientist position in the area of environment, sleep and social emotional learning.

IHDP is a leading institution that seeks to promote human potential and well-being across the population.

IHDP is dedicated to career development for all staff and to providing a stimulating intellectual environment with opportunities for experience and further training in a broad range of disciplines.

We are also close partners of Singaporean ministries as well as with international collaborators.

The successful candidate will play a key role in research that targets the environmental determinants of sleep and social emotional learning in adolescents.

As a scientist within the program, you will participate in research meetings, training activities, data collection and analysis and manuscript preparation.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct original analyses using multidimensional datasets in collaboration with A*STAR researchers and external collaborators from other institutions of higher learning.


  • Attend regular meetings/discussions with a group of post-doctorate researchers and PIs to foster collaborations and produce impactful research.

  • Assist in the preparation of grant applications and grant progress reports.

  • Partner with data scientists from other A*STAR institutes to interpret and write up findings on network analyses and structural equation models.

  • Performs comprehensive literature review.

  • Scientific writing of abstracts and peer-reviewed manuscripts.

  • To provide supervision and training to junior staff in research methods.


  • Requirements

  • PhD in Psychology, Biomedical Sciences or other relevant fields.

  • Knowledge of statistical software ?

    R, SPSS, Mplus etc

  • Has a strong team focus, with the ability to work independently

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and conscientiousness

  • Experience in advanced computational/modelling methods (e.g. network analyses, SEM) will be advantageous.
